Library, bookmarks & schemes

Browse your Wallpaper Library, bookmark the wallpapers you use most, save whole display setups as schemes, and back up with .lwconfig files.

The Wallpaper Library holds everything you have imported or saved. Bookmarks mark single wallpapers. Schemes save a whole display setup, and .lwconfig backups save your configuration.

Wallpaper Library

Wallpaper Library shows imported and saved content, Apple Aerials and installed Workshop content supported by your edition. It offers search, filters and a large grid.

  • Open a wallpaper's detail to inspect it.
  • Apply it to a display by name, or drag its preview onto a display.
  • Use the shelf in Overview for a quicker choice from the same collection.

Bookmarks

  1. Open a wallpaper's menu or its detail.
  2. Mark it with the yellow bookmark.
  3. In Wallpaper Library, pick the Bookmarks filter to list only bookmarked wallpapers.

Removing a bookmark removes the mark only. The wallpaper media stays in your library.

Workshop likes

In Pro, the pink heart on a Workshop item keeps it to download later. Liking does not download, subscribe to or apply the item. Removing a like does not remove any wallpaper media. See Like items for later.

Bookmarks, likes, presets and schemes

ItemWhat it saves
Yellow bookmarkA mark on an existing library entry. Use the Bookmarks filter to find it.
Pink Workshop like ProAn online item to download later. Liking does not download, subscribe or apply.
Scene preset ProNamed parameter values for one base scene. See Scene presets.
Display schemeA whole setup for one display, including wallpaper, overlays and automation.

Schemes

A scheme is a full display setup. It includes the wallpaper, overlays, playback, effects, playlist and schedule.

  • Use the Schemes page in the management window to save and restore schemes.
  • Applying a scheme replaces that display's setup after you confirm.
  • Overlay positions adapt to the target display.
  • Applying a scheme restarts the rotation countdown on that display.

Schemes reference local files. They do not bundle media. On another Mac, you may need to select those files again.

Back up with .lwconfig

Export and import a .lwconfig file in Settings → Backup & Restore.

IncludedNot included
Display configurations, global settings, bookmarks and schemes. Pro exports also include your Workshop likes.Media files, downloaded Workshop media, Steam credentials, API keys and file-access grants.
  • File-access grants belong to one Mac. After moving a backup, you may need to select files again.
  • Lite keeps scene entries from a Pro backup but cannot play them.
  • A manual pause is not carried in a backup.

Export a backup before experimenting with settings. See Troubleshooting.
